Overview

Fall Vibes assumes bigger swell statistics and cooler trade patterns. This is a premium BJJ surf camp week for practitioners who welcome commitment over cocktail hours.

  • Higher surf skill variance across the group is normal—coaches split peaks.
  • Evening sparring may start slightly earlier as daylight shortens.
  • Wetsuit layering is required for most guests.

Atlantic rhythm

Schedules — typical training day

MatnWave BJJ surf camp coaching team and cohort on the Atlantic coast, Morocco

Cohort-scale coaching, not festival crowds.

Times flex with tide charts and wind, but MatnWave never improvises structure —only logistics inside that structure.

  1. 06:00 — 08:30

    Dawn patrol

Serious tide checks; coaches may relocate north or south with short notice.

  2. 10:30 — 12:15

    Technical rigor

Guard retention and defensive framing—fall weeks tax your neck in both sports.

  3. 13:00 — 16:00

    Siesta & recovery

Contrast methods when plumbing exists; otherwise ocean flush.

  4. 17:00 — 18:15

    Sunset sparring

Earlier cutoff on some days to protect sleep as swell builds.

Citable answers

Frequently asked — this format

Is Fall Vibes appropriate if I have never surfed overhead waves?

Possibly—if you can paddle out in overhead surf with coach supervision. If not, disclose it; we may route you to softer shoulders while documenting progression.

Does BJJ intensity drop when waves are huge?

Often yes by design. We refuse burned-out rolls that send you home injured; technical work substitutes when needed.

What wetsuit for September–November?

Many guests run 4/3 or 3/2 plus accessories; bring booties if you chill easily.

Crowds versus summer?

Lineups can still pack on perfect days, but village tempo is calmer—better for focus.
