Common questions

Before you apply

How do I apply for a MatnWave cohort?

Complete the application form on this page with your belt history, surf fluency, injuries, and preferred cohort dates. The intake team reviews every submission and replies within a few business days during open seasons.

What happens after I submit my application?

We review belt history, surf experience, injuries, and cohort mix. If the week fits, you receive a confirmation email with a deposit link, packing list, and private transit details for Taghazout, Morocco.

Is there a belt level requirement to apply?

There is no formal belt minimum, but rounds are rigorous. Coaches tailor intensity per practitioner. Disclose injuries and competition pace preferences on the form so we match the cohort correctly.

How many spots are available per cohort?

Each week-long cohort is limited to twelve (12) practitioners. This cap keeps coaching ratios intentional, mat space generous, and surf lineups manageable along the Taghazout coast.

Can I attend if I do not surf?

Yes. Several guests prioritize the mat. Surf is optional; recovery and community blocks keep you inside the rhythm of the week even without water time.

What are the two pricing tiers?

Only Roll ($199) covers full BJJ programming for the listed cohort week. Roll & Stay ($479) adds curated residence, daily transit from Agadir–Al Massira Airport, and macro-aligned meals in Taghazout, Morocco. Tiers are set per cohort—see /prices for detail.
